About us

Riffloom Musical Experiences

Music written just for you

We're the composers behind Riffloom Musical Experiences. We write solo piano music for weddings, anniversaries, memorials, and other occasions worth setting to music. We're based in Toronto, Canada, but we write music for people everywhere.

We're professional pianists with years of experience writing music for a variety of settings. That experience is what lets us write music that captures the exact feeling your occasion is meant to evoke, and it means we can write in whatever style you have in mind.

Your piece begins with you. Tell us the names, the occasion, and the story behind them: how you met; the moments you shared; what this person, or this day, means to you. You can also tell us the mood you want the music to have, whether that's joyful, tender, or reflective. From there, we write an original piano piece inspired by your story.

Every piece is composed from your story. We never arrange a song that already exists, and we never use AI or pre-written templates. It's written once, for you, and never reused anywhere else.

Hear our work

Every piece here began as somebody's story. Open each to see their story, the recording, the score, and the letter that came with it. These are gift examples — what we call Sonatinas — but we also write longer forms of music for events too.

These are sample commissions with fictional clients just to show what a finished gift looks like. The music was composed by a real, human composer.

Compose your piece

How it works

How a story becomes a song

You describe them in words. Your composer describes them in music.

  1. 01

    Tell us the story

Share who the piece is for, the occasion, and the details you want your composer to know. You can choose the style as well: classical, contemporary, pop, or the feel of a song that already means something to you. If you're not sure, you can leave it to your composer to decide on the style that best fits your occasion.

  2. 02

    Your composer writes

A professional composer shapes your details into an original piano composition. They'll translate the letters of a name(s) into the melody that sets the emotional tone of the piece.

  3. 03

    You hear it first

Your composer sends you a draft of the piece to hear before anyone else does. From there, it's your call: if something isn't right, tell your composer what to change and they'll revise it; or change your mind and get every dollar back.

  4. 04

    It arrives

Your piece arrives on a private page: your personal note to the recipient, the recording, the sheet music, and a letter from your composer explaining how your story shaped it. Everything on the page is downloadable, so it's yours to give as a gift or play at your event.

How Noah and Amro’s names became “My Love For You Never Ends”

This is step 2 in practice: your composer starts by mapping the letters of a name to notes, then shapes those notes into a melody. Here's an excerpt from an actual piece we wrote.

Occasions

What people commission

Different occasions need different music. These are the ones we write for the most.

Weddings

Written for the processional, walk down the aisle, the ceremony, recessional, and the first dance. The letters of the couple’s names shape the melody.

Anniversaries

A piece for a partner to mark a milestone year. Built from the names involved and the story behind them.

Proposals

Music to play as you ask the big question, written for the moment itself.

Memorials

A memorial piece for a service, slideshow, or private remembrance, written from the details you share about the person. Memorials always start with a consultation call, so we can talk it through together before anything is written.

Christmas

A gift to open on Christmas morning: a piece for a partner, friend, or child, written from the memories you've made together.

Other occasions

Retirements, vow renewals, and more. Any occasion with a story behind it is worth setting to music.

Packages

Two ways to tell your story

Every package contains an original piano piece, written from your story by a human composer. Choose the Sonatina for a song to give as a gift. Choose the Sonata for a recording to play at your event or ceremony, written to fit each moment of it.

All prices are in Canadian dollars. We compose for people anywhere in the world; your card issuer converts the amount when you pay and may charge a foreign transaction fee.

1 Final price depends on how long your piece runs, how many distinct sections your event needs, what style you're looking for, and how soon you need it.

Is your occasion less than 3 weeks away? A Sonatina takes 2–3 weeks to write, so it may not be ready on your occasion date. If so, add a free countdown page at checkout. It's a private page for the recipient that counts down to the day their piece is ready, so they have something to open on your occasion before the music is finished. We'll email you its link within 24 hours of your order. If you need the piece sooner, choose rush delivery instead.

FAQ

Questions people ask

The most common questions before booking. If yours isn’t here, .

Can I hear the piece before it’s finished?

You'll always hear a draft partway through the composition window, so you can ask for revisions before the piece is finished. Sonatina customers are entitled to 1 round of revisions and Sonata customers are entitled to 2 rounds of revisions.

What do I actually receive?

You receive the recording, the sheet music, and a letter from your composer explaining how your story shaped the piece. They arrive together on a private reveal page. As soon as your piece is complete, we email you the link to that page. Everything on the page is downloadable, so the recording is yours to keep and play wherever and whenever you'd like.

How long does my reveal page stay online?

The reveal page stays online for 6 months. However, you'll be able to download the page so you can enjoy it forever.

Can I have lyrics, or a sung version of my piece?

We write solo piano music, so your piece won't have words. We work this way because a piece without lyrics leaves room for whatever else is around it, and it can be played at any occasion for years afterward rather than belonging to one day.

Should I choose the Sonatina or the Sonata?

Choose the Sonatina if the piece is a gift: something to give someone, for them to open, listen to and keep. You order it online in a few minutes. Choose the Sonata if you'll play the music at your event or ceremony: it starts with a complimentary consultation call, so you can plan it together with your composer. Still not sure? and we'll help you choose.

How long will it take?

For Sonatinas, unless you opt in to rush delivery, your composer will take 2–3 weeks to complete it. For Sonatas, delivery time varies depending on your occasion — you'll set a due date for your piece with your composer during your consultation call.

Is this AI generated?

No. Every piece is composed by hand by a trained composer, built from your story rather than generated or assembled from a template.

Who owns my composition when it's finished?

Your purchase comes with a personal usage license. You're free to play it, share it, and use it personally however you like: at other events, on social media, or with a photographer or videographer capturing your day. If you're interested in commercial use, such as licensing and selling the piece, .

Will my piece be shared with anyone else?

By default, your composer holds the right to feature your piece in their professional portfolio and we may feature your piece on our website for marketing purposes. If you'd rather keep yours private, just let us know in the online form and we'll leave it out.

What if I don't have all the details yet?

That's normal. Fill out the form to the best of your ability and your composer will reach out to you if any more details are required.

Do I pay anything when I submit the Sonata form?

No. The form only sets up a consultation call with your composer. You don't pay anything until you're happy with that call and ready to go ahead.

Ready to hear your song?

Tell us who the piece is for, and the story behind it. If you choose Sonatina, your composer begins as soon as the form is in. If you choose Sonata, we will be in touch about a consultation call within two business days.
